'Ello Out There!

'Ello mates!

Caitlyn and I have arrived safely in London and breezed through customs without any issue!  Shortly after we met Prof. Ullinger at the international pick-up area and began our journey via the "tube"(known to us as the subway).  We arrived at our new home, Endsleigh Court and unpacked before settling down for a nap.  A seven hour flight plus a five hour time difference really jumbles up your body clock.
Once awakening from our slumbers, Caitlyn and I reconvened with Prof. Ullinger to walk around our neighborhood (Bloomsbury) and get some groceries for the week ahead.  We grabbed lunch at this neat place called "Giraffe" and had our first official meal in London (not counting our complimentary airplane meal!).  Then, and this was probably the coolest part of yesterday's adventure, we went to King's Cross Station.  Now, Harry Potter fans get ready to feel extremely envious because...
Yes, this actually happened!

Another cool thing about touring yesterday was seeing the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel (and no, it's not pronounced like pancreas the organ for those of you who are wondering, although I was assured it sounds awfully similar).
Fun fact about this place: In 1865, the Midland Railway held a competition for the design of a 150 bed hotel. Sir George Gilbert Scott won the competition, and above is the result of his submission! It was completed in 1873.

After becoming familiar with the surrounding areas of Bloomsbury, we went to the Marquis Cornwallis and then back to our flat.  All in all, it was a long, but very productive day!

Cheers!
